A FEW WORDS FOR STARTERS!

Even though your course will meet "on line," you should read the syllabus, review all the links to become familiar with how the course works. Expect to do all the requirements! On-line courses are a wonderful device, even a bit of a gift, but they still require you to do all the work and at a sufficient level of skill and quality.

When you send in your papers, remember that I am, after all, an English teacher. Run those spelling and grammar checkers! And then there are the deadlines to inspire you, which are critical!

NOTE: there is a formatting problem that appears at the www.writersunlimited.org/literature weblinks for our course. An incompatibility problem turns smart quotes, apostrophes and certain other symbols into mostly question marks, or worse! It works like this:

"Smart quotes" come out as question marks.

"Straight quotes" don't.

If you are viewing your course material at the Suffolk website, http://www2.sunysuffolk.edu/axelrod/literature/  you won't see a difference!

Nothing, as yet can be done to fix this, unless I retype every affected document using a different system. I am gradually making that effort but for now, we must live with it. Alas...

Ready to rock and roll? Ah, first, here are your course links to get oriented.
