Opening Week: Read introduction
and opening lessons on line for course procedures, approaches to literature,
deadlines, requirements, etc. Obtain any required books. Begin reading. Section One:
Poetry weeks. Read all poetry lessons and notes on line. Go to my website of www.poetrydoctor.org/freelessons.htm
and read essays and material on poetry. Read all poems listed. Search for two
poems, as per assignment, to compare. Complete and submit your first essay. WRITE YOUR FIRST
ESSAY Section Two: Read Oedipus
the King. Read both
versions--Sophocles' and Anouilh's play entitled, Antigone.
The Grand Inquisitor and the chapter that precedes it, "The
Rebellion." Read on-line
commentary. Select a question to construct and complete your second essay. WRITE YOUR SECOND
ESSAY, Section Three: Read Born of the Fourth of July, and
all the short stories listed at the readings
link. Read on-line commentary. Select question to construct and
complete your third and final essay. WRITE YOUR THIRD ESSAY, QUIZZES:
