July 11: Dr. Axelrod and James Dolan, together with the Dolan family, celebrated the publication of James Dolan's new book, Blue Suburban Skies, at Best Bargain Centereach. This is the 10th and final addition to the Young Poets Mentoring Program series. 

June 21, Sandra Martin, Dr. Axelrod and Alice Shapiro in Douglasville, Georgia, Arts Council, celebrating the publication of Axelrod and Shapiro's newest books of poetry.

June 6, Dr. Axelrod with Max Wheat, out-going Nassau Poet Laureate and his successor, Gayle Teller, together with Suffolk County's first Poet Laureate, George Wallace.

June 3, Dr. Axelrod visited West Babylon Junior High School to perform for the 6th grade class--all 300 of them. A fine group and duly enthusiastic!

June 2, David Axelrod read as part of Tony Iovino's wonderful Gazebo Series on the Schoolhouse Green in Oceanside.

May 31. As my last, official appearance as Suffolk Poet Laureate, I was pleased to introduce X. J. Kennedy at the Walt Whitman Birthplace Association's poetry award presentations.

May 3. Featured poet David Axelrod, was hosted by Barbara Novack at Molloy College in Rockville Centre.

  Jessica and Zoe Robinson (age 8) who made her poetry reading debut on April 24, with her grandfather, David B. Axelrod at Lindenhurst Memorial Library.

April 17. Dr. Axelrod offers a workshop at the Bayshore High School's ETHNIC PEN DAY. Bayshore High School, Bayshore, NY. 

April 1. Dr. Axelrod, Matt Galletta, mentors Paul Agostino and Tom Stock, Elizabeth Brenner, Rachel Bohlman and Catherine McLean celebrate the publication of five of Suffolk College's young poets.  Hosted by Sarah Gutowski and David Axelrod. (Missing from the picture is the fifth Suffolk College poet, Lauren LoNigro)

March 30. Dr. Axelrod reads with George Wallace, Tammy Nuzzo-Morgan and Edmund Miller at Hillwood Commons, C.W. Post campus. 

March 22. 2nd Annual Long Island Authors Group Book Fair. Dr. Axelrod joined twenty other authors to celebrate L. I.'s diverse writing talents. 

March 8. Borders book party for publication of HOW TO APOLOGIZE by Dr. Axelrod and Adam Fisher's Enough to Stop the Heart. 

March 5. David Axelrod celebrating an evening in honor of John Ross.

February 24. Dr. Axelrod celebrated his newest book at Belmore Library, hosted by Lorraine Conlin as part of the "Tuesdays with Poetry" series.
